New Shooting

When does it end? The article below cites Lake Forrest as being "one of the state's largest subdivisions". We have a fire station right there...I am wondering if we have enough interest, if the City would provide for at least a couple of paid officers, to fill in the gap with some reserve officers amongst the residents?

La Vergne Police Search For Suspects In
Drive-By Shooting

A drive-by shooting brought police to a La Vergne neighborhood
overnight. The shooting was in one of the state's largest subdivisions, Lake
Forest. Three shots were fired at about 9:30 p.m. Monday at 1616 Joann Drive,
and two bullets were found inside the house.

Kudos to LDP (now you can pick your jaws up off the floor)

If you haven't already, take a look at "standing"'s post here: https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6995554654633066380&postID=6130504171344815315

It pretty much says it all. We live on Tom Hailey as well. For those of you who say I am out to get the LPD, this should come as a suprise to you.

LPD, THANK YOU! We FINALLY got a ptrol last night. We saw a patrol car fairly frequently throughout the night last night at all hours parolling Tom Hailey...and not just a fly thru....actually patrolling and taking the time to look for anythig unusual.

Folks, this is all we have been asking for is for LPD to take the time to patrol the newer sections of LFE - especially since the recent issues that have occurred - and, as of last night, that is exactly what has happened. If that continues, we will be very happy, very content, and feel the safety that we should feel in our homes and with our families.

Again, thank you LPD.

Extra! Extra! News Flash!!!

Allow me to clarify a few things since there seems to be an individual amongst us who wants to throw curve balls without listening to the cathcher first.

In case you have missed a few of my posts, I am not (as has been previously stated) anti-law enforcement. I have a career in law enforcement that actually has its beginnings back in 1996. Yes, I understand that there will never be a single jurisdiction in this country where our officers will EVER get the pay they deserve. Heck, the last job I had in law enforment required me to purchase my own PACA vest - I was lucky enough to have a friend who gave me his spare for patrol that just so happened to have a spare trauma plate. The only issued equipment I had was my radio, my uniform, unit, and tactical gear. The rest was on my dime. Yes, I very much so understand the woes of a police officer.

That being said - our esteemed anonymous poster can get off of their "Big Stink is anti police" kick. Now that we can move along...we can hopefully come to the issue of what this blog is about: WHERE IS THE LAW ENFORCEMENT PRESENCE IN LFE??? I live on Tom Hailey. The last time I actually saw an officer patrolling here was the night of the last shooting. Actually, that wasn't patrolling....it was responding.

There is no smoke and mirrors....no cloak and dagger.....just a plain and simple request:

INCREASE VISABLE PATROLS IN LFE.

Is that so much to ask? I have stated it before and I think it is fair to state it again. If the chief of police or the Mayor had a drive-by right near his house and then the very next week had a robbery foiled because someone made a very dumb mistake to try to take the law into their own hands and risked life and property by shooting blindly into the darkness of night - then you'd better bet your bottom dollor that you would see a dramatic increase in patrols there. Why should we rank any different?

It isn't a hard request....and it isn't a hard mission. If you would like to continue to argue about my credentials....which does nothing to solve the issue at hand - go right ahead. In the end...I will still be here.

Strange Days

I received an email today directing me to other websites and blog that pointed in a seemingly endless circle - all showing me some similarities to what is currently going on here. It seems that there are some who like to taunt - demand I reveal my identity - while refusing to even read the reason I asked another sect to post theirs in the first place. It seems as if I am not the first person to receive this type of treatment.

Perhaps the same person who demands of me is the same person who demands of other bloggers on other blog sites. Perhaps it is someone alltogether different. Regardless, there is one thing that I wish to make clear.

I am not....and WILL not....go away. Thank you for the emails of support. For those of you who post views of opposition, thank you for expressing your right to Freedom of Speech. I will certainly post mine without fear of retaliation.

New Feature: Now ANYONE Can Post!

I'm willing to try this, as long as we don't get too carried away. I am aware that some folks may not wish to register for this site in order to post or comment, but may want their voice heard. For this reason, I have changed the settings for this blog so that anyone may post.

I do not believe in censorship and I am a firm believer in Freedom of Speech. I would never wish to prevent anyone to lose an avenue to have that right, even if it meant simply having to avoid registering to a site such as this in order to post.

I do, however, ask one thing: I ask that any person or persons puporting to be an official or emplyee of the City of LaVergne in any capacity acting therein in their capacity to register. This is being done in all fairness to those officials and for no other reason. Otherwise, any person could come here and claim to be a city official and make degrading or otherwise damning remarks without any validation as to who they are and futher aggitate the citizens here by some prank. By requiring them to register by associating their screen name with a City of Lavergne email address, it could then be verified that they are who they say they are. (Without doing so I could just see someone trying to play a joke by pretending to be the Chief of Police and stirring up a hornet's nest.)
Sincerely,

Perhaps Not Mayberry...More Like Alice's Restaurant...

I just ask....does these sound even remotely familiar if we just replace the city name with, oh...I dunno....some other city name?

"And that's what we did, sat in the back of the patrol car and drove to thequote
Scene of the Crime unquote. I want tell you about the town ofStockbridge,
Massachusets, where this happened here, they got three stopsigns, two police
officers, and one police car, but when we got to theScene of the Crime there
was five police officers and three police cars, being the biggest crime of
the last fifty years, and everybody wanted toget in the newspaper story
about it. And they was using up all kinds ofcop equipment that they had
hanging around the police officer's station. They was taking plaster tire
tracks, foot prints, dog smelling prints, andthey took twenty seven
eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circlesand arrows and a
paragraph on the back of each one explaining what eachone was to be used as
evidence against us. Took pictures of the approach, the getaway, the
northwest corner the southwest corner and that's not tomention the aerial
photography."

For those of you who are scratching your heads right about now, this is from
Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant. I can't help but wonder why citizens would want to try to take matters in their own hands (though I cannot endorse doing so) with such Odie-ish (gulp) law enforcement going on.

Wonder how many houses would burn down in the Mayor's neigborhood or the chief's neighborhood before a patrolman was driving through there like clockwork? Wonder how many gunshots would go on byt their house before a substation was set up there? My guess....not that many. But then again, we're not at Alice's Restaurant...so we can't get anything we want.

Finally, The Story Gets Told

Straight from WKRN : http://www.wkrn.com/nashville/news/lavergne-man-faces-charges-for-firing-at-thieves/111533.htm#top

Grant it, they spent a lot of time concentrating on the fact that Hadeus shot a gun when he probably shouldn't have - but, let's be honest. I am a logical man...and even I have to admit that it was adumb move...but if I have a pregnant wife in my home, I may be inclined to do something stupid in prtection mode as well. That aside.....the news story is lacking as well.

What it doesn't mention is the fact that the LaVergne Police Department had their K9 dogs out on the scene and had a number of other suspects out on foot yet didn't worry about attempting to find them. Why? How many houses have to get burned? How many houses have to get shot up? How much personal property gets stolen before the Police Department takes an active role?

Step up to the plate LPD!

WKRN, get your Assignments Desk in gear and do a follow up. Its well worth it.

Now...Ain't I a Stinker....

This may suprise you, but I am actually a nice guy. Despite the fact that my first post baslts the La Vergne Police Department, it may suprise you to know that I have an extensive bacground in Law Enforcement as a Police Officer, Sheriff Deputy, Tactical Officer and other areas of Special Operations including Narcotics. So where did my loyalty go? My loyalty are to officers...not to Mayberry.

As far as my education is concerned, this is by far not my first go-round with politics. I may very well have more experience in politics in my background than many in LaVergne who hold office. I can be a wise bird in your ear...or I can be a thorn in your side. How you choose to take my text is your own decision.

This blog was created so that the residents of LaVergne could speak out. When I decided to move to the Nashville/Metro area, I chose LaVergne because of a good bit of smoke and mirrors. Now that the smoke has lifted and the mirrors have all cracked, I see a good bit of what Lavergne is all about. It is about potential beyond any other....potential that is being sat on whilst we blow it away with pork and other needless spending.

By the way, if anyone is interesting in assiting with the purchase of a domain name for this blog, please feel free to contact me. I would also like to hear from you as to what you would like the domain to be called.

Until next time,

Way To Go LaVergne Police Department!!!

You should all give yourselves a big pat on the back. After all, I feel so much safer now that I see that nice shiny black Dodge Magnum racing up and down Murf road breaking the very traffic laws it is supposed to enforce. Who am I to speak evil, though? I am simply a tax payer. As long as you keep my streets safe.........

Houston...errr.....LaVergne.....we have a problem. Where were you the morning of August 7th when a car full of hoodlams stayed parked at the corner of Tom Hailey and Cheryl...very obviously out of place, while many of its occupants were scoping out who to steal from next? The answer....NOWHERE. It took the homeowner taking matters into his own hands and coming to arms to defend his property - coming darn near close to killing an innocent bystander - before the first officer ever showed up.

But then again....Lake Forrest is a quiet place. The only reason we would need increased patrols would be for things like.....ohm I don't know....RECENT DRIVE BY'S!!!!!

News flash for the new chief: New cars dont mean jack when your patrolmen cant drive them on an effective beat. You want to to do something effective? Gain from my experience. Spend a little less money and purchase small traffic cones and label them. Place them around town. Change the location of these cones nightly. Make the patrolmen stop and pick them up and put them in their trunk. At the end of their shift, they log what number cones they brought it an the number corresponds with where they were found. It will give you a better idea of where Ace Ventura isn't getting to.

By the way. In over six hours....not the first patrol car have I seen down Tom Hailey. Now I don't know about you, but if someone just shot at me...and I'm a thief....I may very well concider retaliation. Don't ya think a little increase in patrol would be in order?

I'm here now...and I'm not going away. Shape up...cause your residents are about to speak up!

Respectfully...but Honestly,
