Finally, The Story Gets Told

Straight from WKRN : http://www.wkrn.com/nashville/news/lavergne-man-faces-charges-for-firing-at-thieves/111533.htm#top

Grant it, they spent a lot of time concentrating on the fact that Hadeus shot a gun when he probably shouldn't have - but, let's be honest. I am a logical man...and even I have to admit that it was adumb move...but if I have a pregnant wife in my home, I may be inclined to do something stupid in prtection mode as well. That aside.....the news story is lacking as well.

What it doesn't mention is the fact that the LaVergne Police Department had their K9 dogs out on the scene and had a number of other suspects out on foot yet didn't worry about attempting to find them. Why? How many houses have to get burned? How many houses have to get shot up? How much personal property gets stolen before the Police Department takes an active role?

Step up to the plate LPD!

WKRN, get your Assignments Desk in gear and do a follow up. Its well worth it.

I guess misinformation is better than none at all. ;)

so whats the misinformation here smart guy? It happened right near my house.

To imply that the LPD squandered their resources (K-9 etc..) and only arrested the "victim" is completely false. A suspect was arrested for trying to steal the property. That was completely overshadowed by the neighbor's idiotic shooting spree.

(Roy Kaylor, also of La Vergne, was arrested on charges of theft, possession of burglary tools and criminal impersonation for allegedly trying to steal Marshall's car, Boyd said.)

This information was available. I call it misinformation because only painting part of the picture in this instance was not an error of omission....it was done to create more bias againts the cops. I'm not surprised because that seems to be the entire intent of this blog. It's a hit piece against police.

"Please quit taking (law enforcement) into your own hands," Boyd pleaded. Boyd is the chief of Police in LaVergne. Well Im sorry but if the police were seen around the neighborhood once in a while maybe residents wouldnt have to take the law into their hands. After the fires earlier this year the police said they beefed up patrols and were putting police on 4 wheelers. Yeah for about a week. I might see 1 or 2 police cars a week. And I sure didnt see any increased patrols after the last incident. If Lake Forest is big enough to have its own fire house, then why not a sattelite police station? Lake forest is bigger than alot of towns around here and it is the majority of LaVergne and needs a little more attention. Its pretty bad when a newer subdivision is almost ghetto before the houses are even finished being built.

...and I never painted "part of a picture", either. What my exact words refferred to were "a number of other suspects out on foot". And, if you were there...or anywhere near there...you would know that there were more involved than just the one driver that they arrested. It is certainly not mis-information. Perhaps the reader should become accustomed to the facts before launching his/her insults?

How many officers patrol LFE at any given time? Also does anyone know how many are in other parts of the city?

All I know is that I live on Tom Hailey and rarely ever see any police patrolling though here during the evening or night and I agree to an extent with big stink. they should be patrolling here more. would be especially nice if they would at least give me and my husband a bit more peace of mind after the recent shootings to show up and at least make their presense known. it is almost to a point that we are thinking seriously about taking a loss and selling the house and moving elsewhere.
